Jesus Christ, prince of peace and joy
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Greetings of the season, the prince of peace is born. We at Jordan Assembly of God here in Khalsa road extend a warm greetings of Christmas to all.
Christ fulfils the prophecy of Isaiah, indeed Christ is born to govern the earth, to bring peace and salvation to the oppressed and set free the bondage of sin.
Sin has its consequences and that is eternal death and separation from the living God.
Redemption was overdue on earth and as God proposed, salvation was only through sacrifice of an unblemished lamb, one that was without sin, the blood that needs to be shed has to come from the one who will know no sin.
This thus, can only be God, who is able to beget a son through the power of the holy spirit.
Ason has to be born to save the world and Jesus was born as part of God’s salvation plan.
To believe in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is what a Christian does in order to attain salvation.
Christmas is significant as we ponder what it would have been without the birth of a saviour.
During our Christmas programme, various departments share the life of Christ through various items and activities.
We try to send the message of peace, of love, of everlasting government, of Christ being the perfect counselor and above all, Mighty God that was born in flesh to demonstrate victory over death.
