National Digicel and Bengaluru FC captain Roy Krishna hopes that his side will make a twist in the remaining round of the Indian Super League.

The Simon Grayson coached side faces East Bengal FC in its next match; they are currently struggling on eighth spot with ten points from 11 matches. Krishna who plays well in the attack alongside Indian skipper Sunil Chhettri, with seasoned players Prabir Das, Harmanpreet Singh Javier Hernandez, Bruno Silva and Sandesh Jhingan is hopeful things will be better.

The Siberia, Labasa native believes that wins in the remaining matches are crucial to set pace for them towards the end of the season.

“The next match is on December 30 (today) against East Bengal and we’ve been preparing well; hopefully we get the much needed away win before the start of the New Year,” Krishna said. “We’ve had some injuries and some players are leaving the club; we are hoping to pick up some wins soon. “We’ve been having good training so we are optimistic to win the next one.” He added after winning the Durand Cup before the start of the season has been challenging especially withtheir keeping the momentum going.

“It hasn’t been the best ISL season for me personally and also for the club but we are optimistic that we will make a turnaround as we still have half a season to go,” he said.

“We have spent some good times together training the past few months. “I feel that the players and the coaches understand each other well so that’s going to have a positive impact I’m sure.” Krishna hopes to return home in March for a break.

“I’ve been away since July so I’m looking forward to the end of the season and taking a break,” he said.
