Tourism Fiji is working on some exciting partnerships with MasterCard and Rip Curl as its new partners.

This continues Tourism Fiji’s aim of getting its brand and destination out across the world, to drive visitor arrivals.

With two new markets, Japan and China, due to open this year, Tourism Fiji chief executive officer

Brent Hill said they would continue to market and promote Fiji across the world.

“We have our campaigns in the market with our traditional partners such as airlines and tourism brands like Expedia,” he said.

Corporate Plan

Tourism Fiji is working towards reaching and then exceeding 2019 Visitor Arrival levels by the end of 2024.

“Our target for the calendar year 2023 was 674,000 tourists on the way to 1 million by end 2024.

“However, given how strongly we have rebounded in 2022 we continue to work with the Ministry for Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Reserve Bank of Fiji to re-forecast where we think we can land,” Mr Hill said.

“We will certainly be pushing hard to continue to grow our spend per tourist, occupancy and contribution to the visitor economy.”

He said the targets as per the corporate plan released in May last year for 2023 was to be at 674,000 tourists by the end of this year, 2.7M international visitor bed nights, 667K domestic visitor bed nights, occupancy average above 55% and average length of stay to be 8.5 nights.

“Pleasingly our current trajectory is exceeding all of these numbers, which is a testament to the team approach of the tourism industry – from Fiji Airways through to our transport, hotel and tourism experience providers,” he said.

Tourism Expo

Mr Hill confirmed they would hold Fijian Tourism Expo again in May. Tourism Fiji is working closely with a number of event organisers to bring some large scale events to Fiji.

“We are also keen to continue to work with Investment Fiji to look longer term and grow investment in tourism in Fiji.”
