There has been a noticeable increasd interest in property buying from overseas clients. This ia an observation noted by banker turned real estate agent, Krishn Naidu.

Mr Naidu runs his Roylux Reality company and believes his experience as a former banker dealing with housing and real estate would help grow the company.

In his former bank role, Mr Naidu handled dealings with people buying homes and properties.

He said he understood the hurdles customers would have to deal with to secure finance which has given him the edge.

Having turned to real estate business in 2021 after leaving the banking industry, Mr Naidu knew he was well equipped with the knowledge to make buying or selling a property “stress free” to those interested. “I make things very easy for the customer when they come to see me,” he said.

“They don’t have to run to the bank or Housing Authority or Fiji Revenue and Customs Service or any other place where dealings, settlements or anything else needed to be done.

“I do all the assessments and everything else in my office which includes all the running around.

“So the customer come to see me on whether he wants to buy or sell and I get everything into place so when he comes to see me again I have everything in place for presentation at the banks.”

Mr Naidu said he has also done many such applications for people in the average income bracket and lower and assisted them into getting the best arrangements as far as buying a home.

“Because of my banking background, I know when files ‘get stuck’ and where to go from there, so I do the A-Z package for my customers.”

Since beginning his own practice, Mr Naidu has settled dealings with over 30 properties in one year with 34 of his agents working hard to finalise agreements.

He said a major problem in the real estate industry were bogus real estate agents who were giving the industry a bad name.

“These people need to be caught and brought before the law.”

Meanwhile Mr Naidu said since the end of the pandemic, there was an increase in activities in the ral estate industry including increasing interests from people overseas.

“I have been receiving increasing interest from abroad and this incudes people wanting to buy property in Fiji and those who have properties here and wanting to sell.”
