The 1998 Lexus IS200 never fails to disappoint its owner Miklesh Ram when on the road.

Also known as the Toyota Altezza, the 2.0L straight six engine model seeks that attention of people when on the road.

The 21-year-old University of the South Pacific student helps run the family second hand clothing business Sunshine Clothing located in Nausori and Korovou. Mr Ram is studying Accounting and Management at USP.

He said the Toyota Altezza was his dream car since childhood and started driving at age 18.

“I bought this car one year ago in immobilised condition and within a year, I made it back on the road,” he said.

“It wasn’t easy to get this beauty on the road since parts for this vehicle is hard to get, and due to this, I had to import parts from my brothers residing all the way in

Australia and New-Zealand. Mr Ram bough the Toyota Altezza for $8000 since it was immobilized and spent around $7000 in mechanical and appearance.” He said the Toyota Altezza was one of the most neatly setup vehicles in Fiji with limited models running.

“As I first bought my vehicle my parents really supported me towards this built and trusting the process and my parents were encouraging to have patience towards the built,” he said.

“Not forgetting my friends helping me with every means possible and especially GM MOTORS for helping me with supplying parts locally.”

Last year, Mr Ram participated for the first time at the syndicate car show held in Suva as well as the By Team Legit Fiji where he won a category for Best Stance award.

He has plans on participating in car-shows.
