Head Girl Zu Feng Liu not Happy with Her Mark
Swami Vivekananda College head girl Zu Feng Liu is not happy with her Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination marks.
Results for the national examination were released by the Ministry of Education yesterday.
She scored 386 marks out of 400.
Her marks for respective subjects were: Maths 98, English 92, Computer 98, Accounting 98, Economics 95.
She is now on vacation in Australia visiting Melbourne and Canberra.
The 18-year-old said she expected better marks.
“To be completely honest, I am kind of disappointed with my marks. I expected more in some subjectss,” she said.
“I think that this was a very tough year for everyone, especially due to the shortened academic period.
“Nonetheless, I’m grateful for whatever result I get. I may have felt a little disappointed at first but I think I’ve done what I can. I’m thankful for the support and kind words from those around me.”
She dedicated her accomplishment to all who supported and helped her throughout the way.
“Especially my most supportive and cool parents who have never pressured me to study and who always reminded me to take a break and have fun,” she said.
“I also acknowledge my teachers who have been more than patient and helpful with me. My friends who have always rooted for me and cheered me up. As well as all the kind and supportive people both directly and indirectly.”
Zu Feng Liu said she wanted to influence society via the business field.
“I’m seeking to get into the business field and I am hoping to study in Australia for my tertiary education,” she said.
Her father, Jason Liu, 59, a businessman who came to Fiji from China in 1987 shared similar sentiments.
“If my daughter is not happy then I am not happy too. According to her, she expected more than that,” Mr Liu said.
