Vodafone Opens New Outlet in Nadi
The store is designed to accommodate larger displays of smart devices, LED screens, and a help desk with a sales and after-sales counter.
The company’s investment plan for the financial year includes expanding capacity within the existing network, deploying 25 new sites around the country, and enabling 100 new satellite connectivity solutions spread across the country.
It is important to have the right infrastructure to attract investments into Fiji, says Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica.
Mr Kamikamica was speaking during the opening of Vodafone
Fiji’s Premium Outlet at the FNPF Complex in Nadi.
According to Mr Kamikamica, the right infrastructure will not only create more jobs and innovative opportunities for Fijians but also promote economic diversification. The Coalition Government aims to promote digital financial inclusion and communication by partnering with major service providers like Vodafone to improve communication services in rural and maritime areas. Mr Kamikamica believes that connectivity is key to enhance the lives of the unconnected and keep Fiji relevant in this fast-evolving industry.
He acknowledged Vodafone Fiji’s efforts in building a robust network infrastructure over the last two decades and delivering many of Fiji’s first telco infrastructure and innovative mobile solutions.
He also commended the Fiji National Provident Fund for the My FNPF Center, which will add value and make Nadi more attractive to locals and tourists by offering a luxurious shopping environment under one roof.
Vodafone Fiji’s Acting CEO, Rajnesh Prasad, stated that their investment brings a bigger store to Nadi featuring 14 staff and a modern design.
The store is designed to accommodate larger displays of smart devices, LED screens, and a help desk with a sales and after-sales counter.
Mr Prasad added that Vodafone Fiji was proud to emerge as a key player in the FinTech industry and plans to work towards product development based on digitalisation opportunities to deliver gamechanging products and services in the future.
Mr Prasad also revealed that Vodafone Fiji’s other two upcoming investment projects in Suva and Labasa will replicate this modern structure and design.
The company’s investment plan for the financial year includes expanding capacity within the existing network, deploying 25 new sites around the country, and enabling 100 new satellite connectivity solutions spread across the country. Mr Prasad expressed his excitement about working together with the Ministry of Communications to advance Fiji further through enhanced and cutting-edge digital technologies.
