Babasiga Lions Keep Suva Scoreless
The Labasa football side under coach, Johan Leewai, held Suva to a 0-0 draw in their Digicel Fiji Premier League clash at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Leewai told SUNsports he was pleased with the team’s performance after his first week of coaching.
The former Labasa midfielder said they would need to work on how to recover possession.
“We’re happy to go back home with a draw, and prepare better for our next game,” Leewai said.
The Babasiga Lions grabbed a point in their second DFPL match after losing their opening game to Lautoka while Suva is yet to register a win in the competition.
Suva coach Babs Khan said they played against a strong Labasa side and they missed some goal scoring opportunities.
“We need to work hard,” he said. “The area I’m concerned about is the techniques that we need to work on. We could keep the ball as long as we want to, but if we don’t score goals, there’s no sense of playing football,” Khan added.
