Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay rakes in close to $15,000 from its Sunset Series every two months.
The Momi Bay Sunset Series started when international borders were closed and Fiji residents could not travel to experience popular beach club destinations overseas.
The resort decided to bring those destinations to Fiji and to guests to spark a sense of inspired travel beyond boundaries.
With 30 brands and 8000 properties across 139 countries and territories, Marriott International gives people more ways to connect, experience and expand their world.
For the fifth edition guests travelled to Morocco, where Marriott International has six hotels.
Over 160 people were part of the Sunset Series on Sunday, said Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay food and beverage director, Christian Knetch.
He said all authentic menus were Moroccan.
The resort aims to spark a sense of inspired travel beyond boundaries with the new programme, Mr Knetch said.
“The target market were the gen z and millennials. They want to do some activities while on vacation,” he said.
“But the experience is for all ages and races.”
“We have seen how successful it is for the last one year and we have continued with it,” he said.
The event was open to in-house guests and passers-by, individuals had to pay $99 to 160.
“We have also seen an increase of tourism being part of the sunrise event,” Mr Knetch said. An Australian tourist, Deborah Valentine, had an amazing night and looks forward to traveling back to Fiji for the next event.
She said other resorts and hotels in Fiji should have activities similar to this.
