- WAISEA NASOKIA NADI Edited Waqanidrola by Karalaini

The Wes Naiqamacoached Kaiviti Silktails have shifted their preparation for the match against Ryde in two weeks’ time.

The side defeated defending champion Hill Bill 36-24 in round five of the Ron Massey Cup clash at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.

“A lot of good things come off the back of it with this biggest upset of the season so I’ll put that up there as the gutsiest as well as a club,” he said. He even had forced boys out on suspension, a couple of others on injury and some boys got their debut.

“It’s just really good and just really the thing for the club. You can call upon these young kids and make their debut and make an impact straight away. So it’s great. We’ll enjoy this when our boy comes in at a really good time,” he said. “We’ve got another two weeks before our next game so we will enjoy this win. Get over a few injuries that we need to get over. And then we can start preparing for our game in two weeks in Sydney.

He added that they have yet to be able to put in back-to-back wins.

“Obviously, we came up

a g ainst Ryde which is another quality opposition. So in regards to finding some consistency, that’s what we’re probably lacking at the moment. And that’s something that we’ll work on over the next two weeks.

“We have good support from the local schools as well. If we keep winning games like this and the results keep showing I am sure it will generate more, just keep encouraging fans to get behind us,” said Naiqama. The debutants in the last match were Watisoni Druma and Eparama Veivuki but the side suffered huge injuries.
