Khan family plans to celebrate Eid with the kids at the Fiji Society for the Blind

Fazilat Khan and her husband, Shanon Dunn together with their son, Asher Dunn, plan to spend Eid with the kids at the Fiji Society for the Blind.
Ms Khan said they intended to take sweets and samai for the kids and spend some time with them on this joyous occasion as well.
“Apart from visiting the kids at the Blind Society in Vatuwaqa, we will be hosting our friends at our place later in the evening,” she said.
The 32-year-old said she had started preparing for Eid in advance.
“I have already prepared the sweets and savories on Thursday. Some savories for Eid will be bought since it saves time on preparation as well for us at home,” she added.
“Apart from a few sweets, I plan to make more of savoury and snack foods items together with Chicken Biryani for the evening. Not forgetting samai.”
She also said her family were hyped for this occasion as they will get to dress well, pray and remember what Eid was all about.
“Eid marks the end of the month of fasting and is a joyous occasion for the family where we host our friends and family at our place,” Ms Khan said.
She said Ramadan this year was a blessed month for her family since her 16-month-old son used to wake up with her during Sehri time in most days.
“During Ramadan many Muslims go to the mosque and spend several hours praying. In addition to the five daily prayers that are part of the core of Islam, Muslims recite a special prayer called the Tarawih prayer (night prayer),” she said.
She said spending time with kids at the blind society would be a blessed experience for her family.
