Feroz and family help the needy to make their Eid fruitful
For Mohammed Feroz and his family, Eid will be different and special this year. The family will be doing more for the needy as well as their other family members who live in the village.
Mr Feroz said he wanted to ensure that his parents had enough to celebrate Eid. “We also want to ensure that our neighbours as looked after well and we want to serve them with good food and happiness,” he said.
He said his family had been fasting for 30 days and looked forward for the reward from the Allah Tala.
“We have abided our duties by helping the needy, looking after our parents and neighbours and lastly provided all for my family with the Eid attire,” Mr Feroz said. He also said it was important to help the poor and needy in a form of zakat (charity) so they can also have enough to celebrate this day. “I will also pay my Sadaqat ul-Fitr per person in the charity before I perform my Eid namaz,” he added.
Mr Feroz said they had planned to make a unique meal for their guests.
“We have for the first time included some new items on the list which is famous in India and Asian countries like Malaysia. Special meal is Mutton Kurma,” he said. He said every festival meant a lot to his family as it gave them the time to reflect on their lives.
“The month of fasting and Eid will bring a lot of people together in forgiveness and tolerance.
“We learn to respect others and co-exist amongst ourselves in peace and prosperity. This festival teaches us that we are not alone and we all need to work together as a community and nation.
“We can change our lives to the commandment of the Lord. After that, visiting friends and families and wishing them Eid and spending time with our loved ones.”
