Xi meets with Senior CPV Official
Xi said both countries should continue to be armed with the scientific theory of Marxism and work together to advance the cause of socialism.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese president, met with Truong Thi Mai, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat and head of the Organization Commission of the CPV Central Committee, in Beijing on Wednesday.
Xi asked Truong Thi Mai to convey his sincere greetings to Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the CPV Central Committee, and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.
He noted that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Since General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to China last year, China and Vietnam have attached great importance to implementing the consensus reached by the two general secretaries, and taken measures to push for a sound momentum of China-Vietnam
exchanges and cooperation, Xi said, adding that he would like to maintain close exchanges with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to strengthen political and strategic guidance for China-Vietnam relations.
Given the volatile international environment and tasks of reform, development and stability in the two countries, China and Vietnam should follow the policy of longterm stability, forward-thinking, good neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation, and the spirit of being good neighbours, friends, comrades, and partners, Xi said.
He called on the two sides to consolidate political mutual trust, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, properly manage differences, jointly address risks and challenges, and build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future to contribute to human peace and progress.
Xi said both countries should continue to be armed with the scientific theory of Marxism and work together to advance the cause of socialism.
China and Vietnam need to put people first, improve the synergy of development strategies and projects, advance infrastructure connectivity and people-to-people exchanges, and enhance people’s understanding of traditional friendship to consolidate public support for the long-term growth of bilateral relations, Xi said.
