Digicel’s Sky TV Bill

My Sky TV monthly payment used to fall on the 27th of every month, until today I saw light on Monday (24/4). Upon inquiring at the Damodar City Digicel flagship store while making the payment minutes before writing this, I was unashamedly advised by the staff that the Sky subscription period had recently been changed to 28 days. I was, “can’t believe it”. Having swallowed my anger in about a minute, I told the lady that Digicel had just made it a 13-month year. She thought I was dumb, trying to disprove her Year 2 education she received many years ago.

I asked her to subtract two or three days from every month to get to 28, and see how many total days she got after adding the eleven answers (February has 28 days already). She went, “what?” I told her that Digicel had found a way to make subscribers pay for another 29 days every year. She saw light. Not many do these days. Then she said I was correct and could complain through Facebook. I said I don’t use FB. So I am writing here. While the country is trying to weave its way out of the current economic mazes, we have companies like Digicel who connive to rob my people further. Earlier today I paid $17.95 for a Ram Sami No. 10 size egg tray, a good $6 extra. Oops, that’s a supermarket! Hon Prasad is on point in calling business owners to play a part in easing pain. We concur on many things. FCCC and Consumer Council probably don’t read these pages, so I may have barked up the wrong tree. We need competition.

Government has opened it up I read sometime ago. Hope it bears fruit. Meanwhile enjoy the 13-month Digicel Sky year! May God continue to bless Fiji..
