Rotuisolia, Derenalagi Likely to Feature: Byrne

- WAISEA NASOKIA Edited by Karalaini Waqanidrola

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will host the Hurricanes at 2:05pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua captain Meli Derenalagi and prop Leone Rotuisolia are likely to feature against Hurricanes in round 11 of the Shop N

Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at the HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Head coach Mick Byrne said that they would be fielding their top team for this clash.

“We have a couple of players that are interested in coming back,”

Bryne said.

Rotuisolia suffered a knee injury in the 50-17 loss to the Chiefs and missed out in the 30-14 loss to the Blues in Lautoka last weekend.

“I think we’ll be able to field our strongest team possible this week. We’ve got a couple of injuries, things we’re looking at, as you know, Ratu Leone Rotuisolia. We’re still waiting on you know, his injury status from last week,” he said. Nawaka, Nadi native, and flanker Meli Derenalagi did well yesterday.

“He’s putting himself up for selection this week. He’s over his injury.

So he trained today (yesterday). We’ll have a look at how he pulled up after training today (yesterday) and then we’ll have a look at him on Thursday.”

Byrne added that first five eight Caleb Muntz has been out for eight weeks with a broken hand.

“He’s injured at the moment and recovering.”

Byrne added that the team will be working on the finishing(s) as their main concern.

“We’ve got to be a lot more clinical in the way we finished, you know, we made seven line breaks against the Blues and scored two tries,” he said.

“When you play the good sides, or the top New Zealand teams, you don’t get many like the Blues only let in on average for line breaks a game as we made seven. So if we finished 50 per cent of those or we would be scoring three or four tries.

“That’s then a good day out against the Blues, so probably getting that finishing mind set around you, playing that excitable footy that everybody likes, which we like as well, but it’s just been making the right decisions at the end of those line breaks.” The Drua vs Hurricanes match kicks off at 2.05 pm.
