New Board Eyes Better Delivery
POST FIJI IS EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES IT HAS ON THE DIGITAL SPACE TO BETTER ITS SERVICES
Improving service delivery in rural areas is an aim the new board of directors at Post Fiji Private Limited wants to achieve in their threeyear tenure.
Post Fiji’s executive management welcomed its members at their Suva office yesterday, some of which are former staff of the company.
Service delivery must be improved, said the board chairman, Isireli Leweniqila. Mr Leweniqila is a former businessman who spent more than 20 years in the village, before he decided to join a board.
“I’m sure there is potential out there in the rural areas that we can harness,” Mr Leweniqila said.
“We assist the rural areas and at the same time we make a little bit of money.” Mr Leweniqila said it was important that Post Fiji learn all things technological to improve its services.
He has noticed services delivered by the company dropped when comparted to what it was 20 years ago.
“It is a bit dull from what I used to see before,” Mr Leweniqila said.
Post Fiji chief executive officer, Dr Anirudha Bansod, said there was still room for improvement.
“It is great new to have experience in the team,” he said.
While the digital space is becoming dominant in the business world, Mr Leweniqila said mails and parcels still need to be delivered. That’s unique about us, he said. “Government has entrusted us with this role, he said.
