Super W champs share bonus
Future Farms Private Limited (trading as Rooster Poultry) chief executive officer Stanley Raniga yesterday said their two-year sponsorship of the Fijiana Drua team was a proud investment.
Raniga yesterday disclosed that the total sponsorship was $1million.
He said this during the Super
W winners’ thanksgiving event, which included the $80,000 bonus cheque presentation at Navau, Ba yesterday.
“Our sponsorship is $1m for two years and they (Fijiana Drua) also qualify for a bonus as part of the whole package so this year after they won, they qualified for the $80,000,” Raniga said.
The Bitila Tawake-captained side was awarded a $40,000 bonus payout last year after their opening win. “It doubled this year, initially when we sponsored them we didn’t know they would win. They did it and we are obviously very proud of our investment and our sponsorship.
“Even this year when they were going through a rough patch, dropping points during the regular season, we had to understand that not the entire team from last year played this year.
There are a lot of new players and they need game time and with game time they got better and we saw that it in the semi-final; they did that and conquered the whole of Australia,” he said.
Ashabhai and Co. Pte Limited executive director Kishan Patel said the company’s commitment to the team would continue.
“We have been supporting them since day one.
:”This is the second year that they have won the bonus and we see a very bright future ahead for the team and we will be behind the team every step of the way,” he said.
Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua team captain Tawake thanked the company’s constantly support that although they lost three matches the company continued supporting and encouraging the players. “Thank you for sponsoring us and always believing in women’s rugby, it means a lot to us,” Tawake said.
