Hilton Garden Inn Suva Set to Open May 2025
Hilton Garden Inn Suva will add much needed accommodation to the capital city as it is scheduled to open May 2025.
The three-and-half star property is expected to feature 179-guest rooms, a restaurant and bar and a fully equipped gym and pool located on the Suva foreshore.
It is part of Carpenters Properties Limited investment portfolio of $250 million, including two hotels and an apartment building at the same site, launched in 2018. Carpenters Properties Limited, director Daniel Whippy said the project began, but slowed down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has resumed with a completion timeline to open in May 2025.
“We are now venturing into the tourism industry as a developer in buildings that will complement our business,” he said.
The hotel comprises a six-story building, with 59 rooms constructed before the pandemic hit.
“After 21 months, we plan to construct the second Hilton 120 rooms on the same site,” Mr Whippy said. “Branding will be a regional success and upscale accommodation. “We believe that this will attract more conferences in Suva and need more quality hotel space.” Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Brent Hill said, the team continued to work on attracting tourism investment to Fiji, alongside partners at Investment Fiji. “Wonderful to see progress on the Suva foreshore, with the Garden Inn by Hilton project resuming and taking shape,” Mr Hill said. “The 179-room hotel is due to open May 2025, this will add much needed accommodation to Suva. Exciting times as tourism numbers drive investment and construction in Fiji.”
