Insurance Lessen Burden for Taina and Family
After experiencing a lifethreatening road accident, Taina Cinavilakeba is a living testament to the importance of having insurance.
The mother of three children got involved in a road accident in 2021 than landed in hospital for surgeries.
Mrs Cinavilakeba said if it was not for the insurance, she would not have gotten far for the medical treatment that she needed.
She is currently in India for media treatment.
“I don’t have the finances to finance the trip and the surgery,” Mrs Cinavilakeba said.
“Surgeries that were performed on me have never been done in Fiji and I look forward to coming home next month as I have been here from December 2023.
“I have always stressed the importance of investing in your health. I personally thought that I would never need any sort of admission or surgery, but when the accident happened, it changed my perspective on the importance of getting insured,” she said.
Mrs Cinavilakeba works at a local bank and is insured with BSP Life as part of the staff benefit.
She has been working with the company since 2013 and has never
been admitted at hospital.
However, she would use outpatient services for minor medical needs. “My first admission was in 2021 when I was involved in the motor vehicle accident,” Mrs Cinavilakeba said.
“Not only was I being treated with the best health care facility in the country, which is Oceania Hospitals,
but I was well looked after.
“Through my insurance, I was able to be referred to Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, India.
“I have had three major surgeries in a span of eight months. Insurance not only arranged for the hospital but also my accommodation which is Daspalla Hotel. It is a fourstar hotel in India with exceptional services.
“I was also given meal allowance on days spent in India. “Furthermore, transportation for every visit to the hospital is all done by Apollo Hospital. I did not spend anything while being treated here.
“Everything paid by BSP was arranged and Life, from my flight from Nausori to Nadi, Nadi to Singapore, Singapore to New Delhi and from New Delhi to Hyderabad,” she said.
Mrs Cinavilakeba said looks forward to returning to Fiji next month and advises people to get insured.
