7s fans and foes

Every time our team wins critics and fans alike praise the players only.

They all forget about the people behind the scenes who make it all happen.

All the focus shifts to the players only. The sacrifices, prayers, fastings, the hardships the players faced and to top it all, jam-packed airports to receive the players.

Fans and critics alike often never praises the team management, staff and also the FRU. I wonder why!

Are we fake fans or is its just because of our upbringing.

I guess it’s in our DNA. I feel sorry for the management team and the FRU. I feel the hardest and the toughest opponents are the critics and the fans, not the opponents on the field of play.

Then there are “liumuris’ (backstabbers) of former stars that are continuously after the team and coaching jobs, continuously trying to destabilise the team and its efforts.

The pressure that the team is under both on and off the field is huge. It’s immense.

There is just too much media hype and attention.

Then there is one that continuously calls this beautiful game a micky mouse game.

He forgot how many times Fiji has beaten his team.

And what was his view when fiji beat Wallabies at recent Rugby World Cup?

They should be more concerned about soccer.

The game that they played, if ever.

I just hope the same people are not already planning to put pen to paper with their ever boring and never ending lengthy commentaries against our Drua.

They lost two on the trot. Don’t worry about rugby.

They are right up there with the top ranked team on the planet.

Rugby’s success is not based through criticism and negative minds, it’s through hard work and development.

Rugby is a beautiful game. Every team is evenly matched.

Anyone can win and that’s how it should be. Can you imagine if our team wins all tournament for the next 10 yrs and New Zealand wins every 15s world cup for the next 30 yrs? No one will want to watch the games again. It’s well spread out and evenly matched now. That spices things up.

There is a famous saying, if you can’t take the heat, move out of that kitchen.
