For the first time, 25 final year medical students will attend Fiji Medical Association’s annual regional scientific conferences in Fiji through its scholar awards.

This was confirmed by FMA president Dr Basharat Munshi while acknowledging ANZ’s platinum sponsorship of the association’s annual conferences which are in Suva, the west and north.

This would be ANZ’s eighth year in a row in sponsoring this event.

Through our flagship financial education programme, MoneyMinded, we have been helping medical professionals across Fiji to develop money skills, knowledge and confidence, so they can make the most of their money during their working lives.

“The Fiji Medical Association would like to acknowledge the support of ANZ in signing on as a platinum sponsor for FMA in 2024,” Dr Munshi said.

“We are grateful to ANZ for having supported us in this capacity eight years in a row and also coming on board with us for 2024.

“Supporting FMA, which is the largest representative body in Fiji for the medical profession and doctors in Fiji, shows that ANZ is an organisation that cares deeply about the health of our beloved population.

“Through this sponsorship, the FMA will be able to conduct various CME activities for its members which are a vital process in keeping medical practitioners up to date with advancements in emerging technologies and treatments.”

Dr Munshi said this process enabled the practitioners to then, provide the most up-to-date treatments that is on par with international standards.

“Vinaka Vakalevu ANZ for helping cultivate these young minds to be our leading lights in the future!,” Dr Basharat Munshi said.

Meanwhile, ANZ Fiji country head, Rabih Yazbek, said Fiji had a strong medical industry, which had set the highest standard across the region.

“The ongoing partnership between ANZ and FMA is a reflection of our shared commitment to communities across Fiji,” Mr Yazbek said.

“Through our flagship financial education programme, MoneyMinded, we have been helping medical professionals across Fiji to develop money skills, knowledge and confidence, so they can make the most of their money during their working lives.”
