Being a single mother comes with its unique set of challenges, but it also brings out the incredible strength and determination within a woman. We delve into the inspiring story of a single mother who goes above and beyond to provide her children with a better life, highlighting her unwavering love, sacrifices and resilience.

Susana Biulutuciri’s love towards her children knows no bounds. Despite facing the responsibilities of raising children alone, the mother of two pours her heart and soul into ensuring their happiness and well-being.

This love drives the 33-year-old process worker at Agro Marketing Authority of Fiji to make sacrifices. “My children mean the world to me,” an emotional Ms Biulutuciri said.

“To give them a better future as a single working mother, I don’t need a man in my life.

“I’m ever ready to work long hours, foregoing my personal desires or putting my own needs on hold, all for the sake of giving my children the best possible life. “I have faced many challenges in the journey of motherhood but it failed to deter me from progressing,” she said.

A stable and secure environment is crucial for children’s development.

Understanding this, she and her mother go out of their way to provide her children with a sense of stability.

“I got married at a very young age and after 10 years I had two children.

“My husband and I separated a few years back and it was tough at first to manage everything but it made me strong as well.

“I live with my mother and she is my pillar of strength.

“I made the wrong decision of marrying early but she never judged me. “Whenever I feel down, my mother offers me her shoulder to lean on during difficult times.

“She is always there to support me mentally and spiritually to fight all the battles and odds that come my way in giving my children a better life.

Through her own actions, the Tacirua resident sets an example of integrity and determination, imparting invaluable lessons that will shape her children’s character and prepare them for a successful future.

“I failed at receiving full education when I was a girl.

“Now as a mother, I see that education is an important pathway to a better future.

“I place great importance on my children’s education and actively engage with their learning, helping with homework and instill a love for learning, to empower them to strive for success and seize opportunities for personal growth,” she said
