IT appears the “Gods” have answered my thoughts and cancelled the Mickey Mouse rugby 7s tournament for the rest of the year. Thank goodness. There is talk of this game being taken out of the Olympics as well.

They could go one step further and cancel this lame duck, second-rate game forever from everywhere.

I want Fiji to be good at the real game. Like when Fiji beat France two years ago in the real game. I would like to see more of that.

Nothing would thrill me more than to see Fiji beat the likes of the Wallabies, All Blacks, South Africa and England.

Even if Fiji does not win but does well against these sides, I would be more than happy.

It simply will not happen if the Mickey Mouse game takes seemingly allconsuming precedence and scarce resources. A change in mindset from the third world, small country mentality is required for this to happen, not just by the administrators but by the players and fans as well. Leave the 7-minute game to little girls and boys please. JAN NISSAR
