Road signs now

-

WHEN I saw one of these signs a few years ago, I thought to myself “this is a first, and whoever is responsible obviously has the pedestrians safety at heart” — good job.

Then over the years they started to appear at several Pelican crossings (pedestrian crossing with lights), to the extent that it seems like almost all crossings have one of these signs proudly attached to them.

My question to the relevant authority assigned with the task of repairing these lights is, will they ever be fixed? Or will it take pedestrians being mowed down by reckless drivers who drive through red lights at high speed for action to be taken.

We were taught, and in turn we teach children to wait for the “green man” to light up before crossing the road. Please bring back the “green man” because pedestrian lives matter too.
