Eels rising sensation
TALK about Parramatta Eels and flying sensation Maika Sivo’s name comes to the mind.
The Fijian warrior has been a revelation for the Eels who are on level terms with the Storm having played a game less.
Maika Sivo, who made his debut for the Eels in round one of the NRL against the Panthers, has played 32 games for the Eels and has scored 26 tries.
In his article titled “Momi Guns thunder on”, veteran writer Kameli Rakoko wrote that when the “Momi Guns” Maika Sivo smiled with satisfaction, he looked like Mike Tyson snarling and licking his lips after relishing a hearty meal. I wonder what went through the mind of James Tedesco when he was floored by Sivo who I’m sure will be a hot cake ready to be snatched by the Kangaroos.
Sivo has been described as a strong, strong human and sent shockwaves when he had maxed out at squatting 285kg in the Eels gym. Furthermore, the club’s conditioning and coaching staff have actually limited Sivo’s weights sessions in case he got too big.
The irony is that Sivo still runs around at 110kg at training as a winger. Sivo has become a role model to upcoming Fijian rugby league players.
Gareth Baber advised the 7s boys to make quality time of the opportunity given to them and to prove their worth.
Our boys can take a leaf out of Sivo’s career and see that he has grabbed the opportunity of playing for the Eels with both hands and the Eels aren’t regretting signing on the hulking Fijian flyer. Good on you Sivo!
RAJNESH ISHWAR LINGAM Nadawa, Nasinu the said promise Unfulfilled promises become broken promises Promises are never meant to be broken
But when broken, brings catastrophic results for all Building up emotional conflicts for the promise breaker Weakening one’s credibility and ruining reputation Damaging one’s self-esteem and honesty Destroying one’s personal integrity
Casting doubts on future promises Destroying trust for the victim and breaking his spirit Causing one to feel distraught, neglected and cheated Feeling broken and broken
Causing resentment and feeling revengeful
A string of broken promises is like crime committed Trust vanishes and faith heart totally perishes
Things always from a person
Could be taken as unspoken promises
These promises broken are most dangerous
Be it to oneself or to someone else
Some try their best to fulfil their promises
Struggling against their own selves to keep promises
Some make promises anytime and anyhow on anything
Some are doomed to keep making promises they cannot keep
Some make promises break them
But some broken promises are unforgiveable
Punished only by broken promises
