Bikers offer help

-

WITH the increasing number of bikes and cycles we all need to share and be courteous on the roads. Not only on roads but at home and out at sea. This safety awareness is important to avoid accidents.

Often we hear in the news that a person lost his /her life on the road, at home through fire or drowned.

With the current pandemic the world is facing, Fiji is also affected and leaving many people jobless, families without food and no proper clothes or sanitation.

To celebrate Fiji’s 50th Independence Day we (Freedom Riders) in collaboration with Club Toyota will hold a motor show to raise funds, collect groceries, clothes that people don’t wear any more, shoes that don’t fit as this would assist many families in Fiji.

Let’s celebrate Fiji Day with a difference, help and bring smiles to some families in Fiji.

Our target is to assist at least 200 families even though Freedom Riders have assisted more 300 families.

Freedom Riders president Naren Naidu said “we are not going to stop this effort and we urge people to come to MSG Ground on 10th October with your families as there will be plenty to see and children will have lots to do.”

“If you donate a tinned fish and 10 other people give one tinned fish each this means that five families will benefit.

Mr Naidu said they had been assisting families before the pandemic and they would continue to do so with the help of religious bodies and social welfare to reach families in need.

“There are a lot of family with children who miss a meal and we can assist these families and bring smiles to the children

“We will have a charity tent and you can drop groceries, old clothes or even put money into the money box.

“All money collected will go towards groceries shopping or purchasing housing materials as required and will join other charitable groups once we have raised enough funds to assist families”, Mr Naidu said.

Those who wish to drop items for charity you can do so at the Defence Club, Suva or Royal Suva Yacht Club as they are our receiving points, otherwise at the venue on Fiji Day.

Look twice save a life, together let’s bring a smile to some families.
