Fiji FA anticipates exciting football weekend

-

GREETINGS to all.

Another weekend of exciting football is on stake in the Vodafone Premier League 2020 as it comes to the final rounds of competition. This year’s Vodafone Premier League has been very competitive and we cannot predict who will win this year’s title. There are some teams fighting for the title while some teams are still trying to come out of the danger zone from relegation. It’s going to be interesting and thrilling matches this weekend as it will be a repeat of the 2020 Courts IDC final between Labasa and Lautoka where the northern fans will have an opportunity to watch the two teams play at Subrail Park on Saturday at 1.30pm while at 3pm Ba will face Nadi at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Ba.

On Sunday at ANZ Stadium it will be a clash of neighbours when Suva and Nasinu will battle at 3pm while Navua will host Rewa at the same time at the Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour. A point for every team is crucial this weekend.

In the Vodafone Senior League as you all are aware that Bua and Nadroga have qualified for the final play-offs and the dates are out. The first leg will be hosted by Bua at Subrail Park in Labasa on October 31 while the second leg will be played at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka a week later. The winner of the play-offs will automatically gain the promotion to Premier Division next year.

The Vodafone Women’s IDC is set to be played next weekend at ANZ Stadium in Suva where the best eight teams will fight for the title this year.

The tournament will be played from Wednesday October 28 to Monday November 2. Intially this was supposed to be staged together with the 2020 Courts IDC but unfortunately it was postponed because of unplayable ground condition in Suva. The Vodafone National Futsal League is taking its shape around the country as the zonal competitions in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa are very competitive with teams coming out prepared to win and qualify for the 2020 Vodafone futsal IDC in December. This year we will have ten teams taking part in the tournament in Suva.

I wish you all a blessed and wonderful weekend.
