THE Vodafone national team football head coach Flemming Serritslev was pleased after conducting two days of national trials for the U19 boys in the Northern Division over the weekend.

A total of 22 players who were identified from the Courts IDC 2020 gathered for the weekend trials at the Bocalevu Muslim Primary School ground.

“It was actually a very productive two days of tests we had here in the Northern Division,” he said.

“We saw some new players that we never seen before in our U16 and U19 squads so it was a really good trial.

“We already had a few players from Labasa and Seaqaqa in our squad and after this trials two or three more players from other districts would be called when we meet again for the next camp.”

Serritslev said they would continue to have training camps while they await a decision from Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) on the competition dates.

“The next long camp is not yet confirmed because we are still awaiting a decision from OFC on all competition dates,” he said.

“But we will still keep on collecting the U19 and U16 squads to continue with the

n FIJI FA MEDIA preparation but the length of the camps depends on when the competitions will be held.”

Players from Labasa, Seaqaqa, Dreketi, Bua and Savusavu had a chance to be trainning under the guidance of the national coach Serritslev.

Mohammed Zaid of Bua FC was also called in for trials among the U19 boys.

Serritslev was assisted by the Labasa FC head coach Ronil Lal and Seaqaqa FC head coach Mohammed Imraan.

A trial camp was also held for the Viti Levu boys simultaneously where a total of 25 players went through a two-day trial at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.
