Concert to help artists

- By WANSHIKA KUMAR

AN online fashion boutique, Rags and Tags, in collaboration with independent recording artists will host a music concert at the Planters Club in Savusavu tomorrow.

Fiji’s vude prince Savuto Vakadewavosa said the concert was the best way to revive the people’s spirits in the North after super storm Yasa made landfall.

He said STC Yasa and the COVID-19 pandemic had left many musicians without jobs.

“This concert will help them earn some money and support their families. Many of our musicians are from or have direct links to Vanua Levu. It was only right to have an event in the North,” he said.

“The entrance fee is $25 and will be paid to our musicians.”

Mr Vakadewavosa said they would also have a relief drive to collect relief items to help the people affected by STC Yasa.

“The show organisers have incorporated a relief aspect to the show for a family at the Wainunu Estate in Cogea that was affected by STC Yasa. Regarding the wonderful relief efforts that are happening across the country, we believe that starting with a family will go a long way.

“We hope those attending the concert would be empowered through music. Music is a universal language and music heals.”

Artists such as Aggie Vakaloloma, Tua and Savuto will perform at the concert.
