SOUTH Pacific Boxing Promotion will line up four more programs this year after the success of last Saturday’s event in Nadi.

The program attracted more than 2000 spectators with both the title fights going down to the wire.

Alivereti Kauyaca claimed the Pro Box Pacific Cruiserweight title after an upset split points victory against Savenaca Naliva while Ronald Naidu staged a last minute barrage in the final round to down Nathan Singh to win the Fijian lightweight title.

South Pacific Boxing Promotions promoter Freddy Chand said they planned to partner with FBC TV again to live stream the program worldwide after the overwhelming response.

“We are planning to hold four more programs this year and looking at the crowd, 100 per cent sure that one of those will be held in Nadi,” Chand said.

“It was good coverage from FBC TV and we got good response from overseas. We are keen to work with FBC TV to promote the sport.

“The next program is most likely to be held in either May or June and that will depend on the availability of the venue. We want to host it in Ba as well.”

Chand said big names would be involved in all the programs with title fights.

“Some of the big names have already indicated their willingness to sign up,” he said.

“For this program, the Savenaca Naliva versus Alivereti Kauyaca fight went for the full 10 rounds. This was the show of the year.

“The Nathan Singh and Ronald Naidu fight everyone knew that it would be a knockout but it happened in the last round.”
