Labasa aims to keep record

- FIJI FA MEDIA

THE Labasa football side aims to keep its unbeaten run in the Digicel Premier League when they face the in-form Nadi side this weekend.

Coach Ravneel Pratap said the side was working on their fitness and technical areas before they face Nadi.

“Nadi is not an easy team to beat because they were defeated by Ba and then they came out strong beating Lautoka and then Suva. We are wary of them and at the same time we are doing our early preparations to overcome them.”

“We played Nadi in the past and to defeat them we have to improve on our technical background. When I say technical then it’s about all aspects of the game where it deals with players discipline and the skills they apply on the field.

“Fitness is another thing that needs vast improvement because we went to a nil-all draw against a tough Ba side and to face another tough team like Nadi, fitness needs to be there.”

The Northerners drew in three of their matches and registered their first win against Nadroga in their last outing.

The Babasiqa Lions is the only unbeaten side in the DPL and Pratap says they want to register their second win this weekend.

“The team just got their first win and we want to continue our unbeaten run which is going to be hard but we are ready to face Nadi. We have got the chances to win but at the same time we have to understand that Nadi will bring a totally different game plan which we need to study on the field.”

Labasa plays Nadi at Prince Charles Park at 3pm this Sunday.
