Steady growth in business

THE newly opened Fresh Choice Supermarke­t in Lautoka offers a premium shopping environmen­t to shoppers of all walks of life.

P Meghji Group general manager Eremasi Matanatabu said since they opened they had seen a steady growth in their business and interest shown by the public in Fiji.

Mr Matanatabu said Fresh Choice employs 85 staff members in its three supermarke­ts and 10 staff members at their head office in Lautoka.

“We want to offer a shopping experience that is different from what any other supermarke­t offers in Fiji,” he said.

“The experience includes a premium shopping environmen­t in an airconditi­oned supermarke­t with quality products at a competitiv­e price.

“Our supermarke­t has an in-house butcher’s shop with a fully equipped coffee shop and bakery.”

Mr Matanatabu said the P Meghji group drew from all its resources to deliver their premium supermarke­t in Lautoka.

“P Meghji Company Ltd providing the building and floor space, PM Constructi­on carrying out all the constructi­on and general fit-out and P Meghji Trading Ltd providing high-quality products for our customers.”

At Fresh Choice, he says they always make sure customers get the best and quality service.

“The importance of friendly, helpful staff cannot be overemphas­ised.

“This is a customer service differenti­ation which our instore experience that we want to offer our customers at Fresh Choice.

“Getting pricing right is still job number one – but when it comes to attracting and keeping customers, pricing must be understood in context.

“Price has much greater importance to customers when there are significan­t price difference­s, when there’s little difference, we believe that we will offer a shopping experience that is second to none in Fiji,” Mr Matanatabu said.

While there are plans to open a new Fresh Choice Supermarke­t in the third quarter of this year, he said they would move the Nasese liquor shop to a new location at the end of May and opening a new liquor shop in Tamavua in June.

“We will be revealing the location soon,” Mr Matanatabu said.

It’s not possible to shrink the store, but we would like to use technology to help our customers more quickly find what they’re looking for.

One thing shoppers really enjoy about food shopping is discoverin­g new products that they may want to try. We will find ways to showcase these new items that improves our Customers shopping experience.
