Ananda gets ANOC award
FIJI Rugby Union’s legal officer and board secretary, Vishal Ananda has been awarded a Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) scholarship to attend the Russian International Olympic University in Sochi, Russia.
The scholarship is for the academic year 2021-2022.
Vishal’s application was subsequently endorsed by the FRU and supported by FASANOC.
Vishal has a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of the South Pacific and has been working at FRU since 2018.
For this Masters Programme, Vishal is interested in order of preference sports diplomacy, economic theory and international business environment.
All 206 NOCs were invited to submit potential candidates for the scholarships for the 2021/2022 academic year. The MSA course will equip students with world-leading education imbued with the Olympic values. FASANOC had in turn called for applications through its member National Federations.
This scholarship has been provided courtesy of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. The Vladimir Potanin Foundation, a charity founded by Russian billionaire Vladimir Potanin supports higher education, arts and cultural projects, and philanthropy development in Russia.
The scholarship includes tuition fees of the Master Programme including accommodation for the duration of his stay, including a return ticket for travel to Sochi.
ANOC conveyed its appreciation for an outstanding application and FASANOC wishes Vishal all the best for his studies in Russia and career ahead.
