- By NOA BIUDOLE

LABASA fotball captain Akuila Mateisuva they said were already gearing for their showdown with Lautoka despite securing a 1-0 over Suva at the ANZ Stadium.

"Lautoka is a very strong team and they are not leading the points table for no reason," Mateisuva said after the Digicel Premier League match yesterday.

Despite a home advantage Mateisuva said it was still a mountain to climb.

"It is going to be tough especially with it being a home game, but I'm sure the boys are ready.

Lions midfielder Akeimi Ralulu scored the lone goal of the match in the 15th minute.

In the second spell Suva stepped up their efforts in the hopes of avoiding a third loss in a row.

Suva's Meli Codro, and captain Ravnesh Karan Singh attempted multiple sorties against the Babasiga line only to come out empty handed.

Mateisuva also added to the Capital City boys’ woes with an iron curtain performance maintaining a 100 per cent blocking average with no goals conceded in four matches.
