COVID-19, one year later

-

HERE are some of my observations regarding COVID-19 affected people – one year later!

1. Some are still struggling;

2. Some have found alternate employment at less wage, but are OK;

3. Some have cleared bushland and planted and now harvesting vegetables and root crops;

4. Some have gone back to work because the company they worked for has reopened;

5. Some use foodpacks wisely, some don’t;

6. Some say they had received foodpacks and if we could call in a month’s time;

7. Some call around to NGOs and other groups that are supplying and hoard food;

8. Some share foodpacks;

9. Some take precautions, some don’t or seem to don’t care. (They can be seen roaming around unmasked and travelling in groups)

10. Some have used the foodpacks and cooked food and now run small businesses;

11. Some have now donated food as a mark of paying the good forward;

12. Many have given up the luxuries of life (or examples, no more grog, tobacco products and alcohol);

13. Some go from house to house asking for work;

14. Some have sold clothes and utensils they seldom used;

15. Some have sold TVs, settees, beds, tables and chairs, etc;

16. Many have moved in together to save on rent;

17. Many have lost weight from eating less. They are looking trim!;

18. Many have adapted to the situation, while some have not;

19. Many have reinforced their doctrines;

20. And there are those who wait for handouts — they are no longer on our list.
