Vuvale and vaccine Thank you Australia

-

COVID-19 weary Fiji’s call to big South Pacific brother Australia in true Vuvale partnership for assistance has received a very positive response.

Our enormous heartfelt and sincere thanks to the government and people of Australia for sending your medical assistance team in our desperate death-defying moments as we struggle to battle this deadly COVID-19.

Tonnes of personal protective equipment, medical supplies, thermal guns for health screening teams, consumables, et cetera are huge acts of immeasurable charity, generosity and kindness.

To all Fijians who still resist taking the COVID-19 jabs, please wake up from your troubling beliefs. Wear your masks. Exercise safe social distancing; wash and sanitise hands. Enough of this unbelievable stubbornness and resistance please. It is so simple.

COVID-19 is very real. COVID-19 kills.

The jab debate

TO take it or not? This is the question.

While the ministry, WHO and many more are out promoting that taking vaccines is the way forward in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, there are others who have reservations.

It’s simply a thought where one should balance personal health and the risks associated with this deadly virus.

We all, at some time or other, end up in hospital or medical facilities for curative healthcare services. Never have I heard that to recover we are denied medications and injections prescribed by the medical professionals.

To have a safe work environment, the workers are told to take jabs and many are placing their religious beliefs first and may lose their jobs as we progress.

To protect ourselves we shall be proactive to avoid risks and the choice is ours to balance our belief and health.

The increase in COVID-19 cases and associated deaths should make us wiser.

All in all I pray that we tackle this unprecedented killer with what is best for us!

The debate may continue until the human population is completely wiped off!

No other way

IN light of the arriving AUSMAT and the New Zealand medical team, I believe our senior health officers, government think-tanks and national strategists have showed that they have run out of ammo in trying to bring the delta variant under control.

In plight to trod on desperate times calls for desperate measures, frankly speaking the Government and MoH has no other way, but to rely on foreign aid.

“To know that you do not know is the best. To think you know when you do not is a disease. Recognising this disease as a disease is to be free from it” - Lao Tzu.

However, for the Vuvale relationship, I wish the two medical support teams and our local staff the best way forward to swiftly strangle the out-of-control virus that has caused a serious impact on the daily lives of Fijians.
