Holiday activity in the Kaila!
WHILE thinking about our students and their away from school status I found out something that I would like to share with all. The Kaila! component of yesterday’s edition (Wednesday, June 23, 2021) once again proved to me that The Fiji Times is not only professional in delivering news but catering for our students as well for so long.
The ‘Holiday activity’ section has a lot of thought-provoking ingredients for the young minds. The translations, trivia questions for kids, riddles, just for laughs, terrific tongue twisters for kids, ‘this day in history’, ‘did you know?’, ‘TV jumble’, ‘crosswords’, ‘unscramble the words’, and ‘challenge yourself’ are some of the activities our students can get involved in.
I hope that this section of this prestigious newspaper is utilised well to keep our students engaged. Mind you some of these activities are more interesting than the activities in their text books. Buy a copy of The Fiji Times which is a good investment for the family as The Fiji
Times is not only current but futuristic with its ingredients.

Helping hands
VIA this week’s newspaper, it was pleasing to read that our children have been involved in worthwhile activities. While some are learning traditional skills like weaving, farming and fishing, others are helping out their parents and grandparents sell agricultural products. Then there are those who are busy with their school work, making the most of the extended school break. They are revising what has been covered in term one, while some are improving their reading skills and taking part in the online classes. Hence, it is important to keep our kids safe and busy with worthwhile activities, but we must bear in mind they are vulnerable to COVID-19! This week’s Kaila! newspaper was informative and educational!
