Vaccination drive
STAFF and immediate family members of Ashabhai & Co. Ltd were given the chance to get vaccinated at the head office in Vatuwaqa.
According to joint managing director Harish Patel, the turnout of staff and their immediate family members was satisfactory.
“We are really appreciative of the Ministry of Health for coming out to our premises and vaccinate all of our staff here,” he said.
“Given the severity of the pandemic we are getting all our staff to have their vaccination for the safety of their co-workers as well.
“As a business leader I also urge fellow citizens of Fiji for the safety of the people, the fellow citizens to have their vaccination and that will bring about certainty to the business environment and the economy as well.”
He said they were following all the protocols that had been established with the Ministry Of Health and ensured that these protocols were strictly adhered to by the workers.
“Safety is very paramount for us given what is happening out there at the moment,” he said.
Business development manager Kalpesh Kumar said there were about more than 100 people who had come to get vaccinated.
“All the employees of Ashabhai are getting vaccinated and their immediate family members who hasn’t been vaccinated.
“So this is the opportunity the organisation is giving to them, they have organised this particular vaccination drive so everyone can get vaccinated and protect their family.
“We have made it mandatory because we want to protect the organisation and their families as well at the same time.”
Mr Kumar said the supply was normal.
“Stocks are going so we also ensuring when our team goes out there they have protective gears on and ensure that they don’t catch the virus while they are out on the field so we are taking care of those compliances.”
The company has about 400 staff members and according to Mr Kumar they haven’t laid off any employees.
