Back at work

A TOTAL of 186 staff members of Fortech Constructi­on Pte Ltd have returned to work.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport the company is engaged in major projects such as Sheraton Fiji refurbishm­ent, Labasa Hospital - Ronald MacDonald House of Charities Fiji, PA Lal Coachworks, NS Buildings Total, Shivas Apartment, Fiji National University Sports Complex, FMF Walu Bay and Veisari.

The team shared it was hopeful to see these projects completed after re-opening of the business.

“Re-opening can be a source of motivation to other institutio­ns who are as committed in implementi­ng COVID-Safe protocols” said the director of Fortech Constructi­on Pte Ltd Umendra Kumar.

The company was also reported to have completed a warehouse project during the pandemic for Lyndhurst Group of Companies.

The constructi­on company is based outside of its main office in Laucala Beach Estate, had a workshop in Viria Vatuwaqa and a second office in Nadi.

It has successful­ly completed major projects such as Fiji Airways Aviation Academy, Nasese Medical Center, 3 Kings Extension project, University of the South Pacific Faculty of Business and Economics extension and the FMF loading shed in Walu Bay before the pandemic.

“Most importantl­y welcoming our employees back to the work they love means we are empowering our people and their families financiall­y” said Mr Kumar.
