Vaccination drive

Business takes steps against COVID-19

- By LOSALINI VUKI

THE COVID-19 pandemic has impacted almost every corner of life.

It has not only caused global economies to stall, changed the way we work and interact with our loved ones, but also stretched healthcare systems to the limit.

Even restrictions on activities to curb the spread of the virus have been also implemented.

Businesses like Vision investments Ltd and Courts have even taken steps towards the COVID-19 vaccination drive offering a way to transition out of this phase of the pandemic.

During the Courts vaccination drive, staff members were notified on the importance of taking the vaccine.

Fighting the virus is a joint responsibility. Therefore, each individual had the choice to protect themselves, their families, colleagues, customers and the company business.

The company itself has made continuous reminders/advice on the effects of the virus to staff members and constant circulars sent out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and WHO.

At all Courts outlets, posters have been printed to place in the staff tea tearooms, washrooms and notice boards as a reminder.

The company has also had one on one talks with the staff members who were doubting the vaccine because of too many mixed messages on social media.

Even a daily email update is sent out to all stores on venues for the vaccination drive and a weekly update on per cent of locations whose staff have been vaccinated.

Courts has also encouraged managers to continuously coach their staff members to adhere to the company’s vaccine policy.

A vaccination drive was also arranged at the Courts head office for staff with the MOH. This is an important community message from Vision investments Ltd and Courts:

“It is increasingly evident that the deadly Coronavirus is here to stay. Humanity will have to learn to live with the virus. We have seen worldwide that the virus causes severe respiratory difficulties and even leads to death. This is the cold hard reality.

“The only way we can learn to live with this virus is to get vaccinated. With the vaccination, we can build our immune system to prevent the virus from infecting us. So get vaccinated. This is the only way to get our lives back, to go to our places of worship, to visit our friends and relatives and get Fiji moving again. God bless Fiji.”
