Build immunity

-

WE are living in a new coronavirus- induced world, where the schools are closed, sporting events are cancelled, social gatherings is a taboo, and most importantly our physical identity is most of the time kept hidden by the face masks.

There are many who are now within the isolation centres and very soon some will be in dire need of emergency lifesaving tools.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services offer good advice for preventing community spread and personal infection: apply social distancing, sanitise surfaces, wash your hands, and don’t touch your face.

But, there’s more. Did anyone wonder that there may be some who may have been able to defeat this virus without taking medical assistance?

Here I am not saying that one must not take medical advice, it is vital that you seek professional medical advice.

But what I am saying is that there are some who are regularly boosting their immune system to fight the virus.

Fortunately, good advice on boosting our immune system is readily available on the internet from trusted sources such as WebMD and Healthline.

And the advice is always the same:

■ Increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits and leafy greens;

■ Refrain from dairy, other fatty animal products, and sugar-laden foods;

■ Maintain daily exercise of 30-60 minutes;

■ Minimise your stress level and get adequate sleep.

While getting jabbed is important, we must realise that it is equally important to naturally boost our immune system so that we are able to fight with this enemy of mankind. Let us prepare the army within us to be ready to subjugate that invincible virus which is hell bent of creating even greater havoc.

Remember, the old saying ––– Prevention is better than cure.
