My thoughts
THE gang police found involved in drinking alcohol and a bloody fight that led to the death of one of them at Prince Charles
Park last Wednesday not only trespassed on to a private property but also broke the curfew order as confirmed by police.
Police have since confirmed that the deceased died as a result of injuries he sustained from that night’s commotion. My sympathies to the family in grief. Police say when they arrived at the scene, the victim who had visible injuries was found lying unconscious.
He was immediately rushed to the Nadi hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. In the meantime, the rest of the group were arrested and taken into police custody.
Following investigations, a 42-year-old man was charged with one count of murder while others had been released with no charges.
We now ask police the question about how this group happened to be there in the first place while curfew was in force.
And what is the council doing about the security arrangement at the park to stop unauthorised people from loitering there all the time?
Last but not least, I urge the police to keep their eyes and ears open while patrolling the streets.

Nadi has a proven track record, is honest and credible and has the right experience and knowledge to serve on the post. Apparently, it seems that the ministry has not been able to find a candidate who fits that description and as the advertisement says.
The pandemic is a problem as we all know but I do not think that should be of any concern as far as this process is concerned.
It is rather unfortunate to see such a problem existing in the Nadi Town Council all the time.
When do you think we can see stability in the council administration restored once more?
I hope you will not take this as criticism but look at it positively.
Good output will only be achieved with proper human resources and a good working environment.
Anything less is not good, be it any organisation. A ratepayer’s concern this is.
