Nadolo lauds coaches’ positive mental strategy

- By ZANZEER SINGH

EUROPE based Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo has applauded the positive mental strategy set out by the coaching staff to go in with a winning mindset against the mighty All Blacks.

Head coach Vern Cotter has already set his sights on creating an upset by winning at least one of the two test matches against the number two ranked rugby nation in the world.

According to Nadolo, the thing that the coaching staff had brought in which was so good to see was that they were good enough to win games.

Nadolo said their aim was to go into the matches with the winning mentality.

“That’s the learning that you can get not only for the young guys but for us as well,” he said.

“We have a great opportunity to go out there to express ourselves and nail our roles.

“The boys are excited as these opportunities don’t come very often.”

The All Blacks defeated Fiji 60-14 the last time the two teams met in 2011.

None of the players in the current Flying Fijians squad featured in that fixture.

“The last time we played against the All Blacks was ten years ago so this is a special moment for us at a very difficult time,” Nadolo said.

“We are not under the illusion that this will be an easy game as it will test us both mentally and physically.

“However the coaches have done really well to prepare us. We have got a lot of feel out there with a lot of motivation from people back in Fiji who are struggling with the current pandemic.

“Obviously we are here away from our families sacrificing by putting our hands up to play for Fiji. That is what makes us a good team and this is the sort of stuff we can draw from for the future.”
