Grace Road opens $4m retail facility
THE new $4 million True Mart by Grace Road Kitchen was officially opened to the public in Sabeto, Nadi, yesterday.
The facility, equipped with a supermarket, a restaurant and service station, marks another all-purpose service station facility opened by the Korean business giants.
While opening the establishment, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said the project was executed while Fiji was combatting the resurgence of the pandemic.
“Construction took eight months. You pressed on, showing hope and confidence and the result is a facility that will benefit the people in this area and those travelling along the highway,” he said.
“Now, they have a wellstocked supermarket and a restaurant. They can get a variety of healthy and fresh vegetables, groceries, as well as household and personal products. These are gains you expect in an economy that is modernising and progressing for the benefit of all people.
“Such investments give our citizens a range of choices.
“This has been one of the key objectives of my Government – facilitating enterprise and competition and giving ordinary Fijians a wide range of choices in products and services.”
Grace Road Group director Daniel Kim said True Mart allowed the company to connect local communities to a marketplace that farmers and families could access.
“You may notice that all of our True Mart is located in the suburbs and rural area,” he said.
“That is because our heart is always in rural development and integrating agriculture and retail and to benefit the community and job creation.
“We have never forgotten these principles.”
