Digicel commits to upgrading LTE network

DIGICEL Fiji is committed to upgrading its LTE network to meet the growing demands of customers with more people using data for social media, music and video streaming.

This, according to a statement from the company as it celebrates its 13th birthday with exciting offers for its customers.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty and commitment to Digicel, which has allowed the company to grow and serve the communitie­s better,” said Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed.

“Digicel is customer-oriented and is committed to providing the best offers to its customers.

“For October, we are looking at special CSR activities as well which we will be announcing later in the month.”

It was stated since launching in Fiji in 2008 as a telecommun­ications provider, Digicel Fiji was the only digital operator in Fiji today offering the best voice, text and entertainm­ent plans.

With the arrival of COVID-19 the company had introduced the “Never Lose Touch” campaign which was specially developed to keep people connected through the Digicel network, products and offers during the pandemic.

Digicel Fiji said it also fulfilled its corporate social responsibi­lity by assisting the Ministry of Health and Medical Services through the timely donation of PPEs, maternity and baby care products, hygiene products, free meals for frontline workers, COVID affected households and in assisting the COVID taskforce with a call helpline to manage operations.

During the last cyclone season, the company said it provided free voice and text to customers and would continue to support its customers as they approached the next cyclone season.

With the government’s unemployme­nt assistance rollout, Digicel said it improved and expanded its MyCash mobile wallet service to a wider customer and business base. The company continues to expand its MyCash database to create a safer and cashless shopping experience for Fijians.

During October a special voice and text plan was being offered where customers receive unlimited voice and text for a month for only $5, the best deal in Fiji with attractive prime bundles offers.

The Digicel rewards app which was launched in August, customers who opted into these birthday promotions, received 130 points, which they could use to redeem plans and products.

The company added they were also giving away $1300 every week in October to customers who opt into these plans. Digicel was committed to providing improved customer experience through investment in the network as well as investing in the community.

The company said it had signed a milestone sponsorshi­p agreement with the Fiji Football Associatio­n and as restrictio­ns ease soon, the Digicel Premier League was expected to restart with a hope that Fijians could come together and enjoy their favourite sports.
