Nakosi cleared
PAU winger Aminiasi Tuimaba has been suspended for two weeks and will miss two games after the Ligue Nationale de Rugby disciplinary and rules commission came back with its verdict on Wednesday.
Both Tuimaba and Filipo Nakosi had been cited for offences in separate games during the latest rounds of the Top 14 competition.
“Aminiasi Tuimaba was finally suspended for two weeks for his red card received in Perpignan,” the statement from Ligue Nationale de Rugby said.
“He missed the match at Stade Toulousain, will miss the one against UBB and will then be requalified.”
“Aminiasi Tuimaba was found responsible for ‘dangerous play’ and more particularly for ‘tackle an opponent by anticipation, delay or in a dangerous manner (dangerously tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the shoulder line, even if the tackle started below the shoulder line.
“One week, and after taking into account the mitigating circumstances (acknowledgment of guilt, expression of remorse), the penalty was reduced by one week.” “Consequently, Aminiasi Tuimaba is suspended for two weeks.” The Yasawa flyer has also resigned with Pau until 2024. However, Castre Olympique winger Nakosi has been cleared to play
“After analyzing the match officials’ reports and hearing the licensee’s arguments, the discipline and regulations ruled that there was no disciplinary action against Filipo Nakosi.
“Filipo Nakosi is therefore qualified for the next meeting of Castres Olympique.”
