New music
BRITNEY Spears has teased that new music is on the way. The 40-year-old singer – who regained control of her assets after an LA court freed her from a thirteen-year conservatorship which was governed by her family – has not released any music since 2016 but revealed on Instagram that a new song is on the cards.
‘Grounded’ movie
PAUL Dano considers The Batman to be a “grounded” movie. The 37-year-old actor is playing the Riddler in Matt Reeves’ new superhero blockbuster – with his serial killer character striking terror across Gotham City – and admits that he didn’t want to specifically base his work on movie murderers. Paul told Empire magazine: “I like how both grounded and big this film is at the same time.”
Chad stunned
CHAD Stahelski was stunned to be given an acting role in The Matrix Resurrections. The 53-year-old star worked as a stunt double for Keanu Reeves in the original movie in the sci-fi franchise but has been given an acting role by director Lana Wachowski in the new project and was taken aback when he first read the script.
Batman role
MICHAEL Keaton will play Batman once again in the upcoming superhero movie Batgirl. The 70-year-old actor will return to the role of the Caped Crusader for the first time in 30 years in The Flash and will now play Bruce Wayne in the new DC Extended Universe (DCEU) flick with Leslie Grace, J.K. Simmons and Brendan Fraser. The plot for Batgirl is being kept under wraps but it centres on Barbara Gordon (Grace), the daughter of the Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon.
‘An evolution’
JAY Z says Beyonce is “an evolution” of Michael Jackson. The 52-year-old rapper compared his wife Beyonce, 40, to the late King of Pop in a recent chat with Alicia Keys on Twitter Spaces, saying Beyonce has surpassed Michael with her iconic 2018 Coachella performances. He explained: “Bey’s gonna be mad at [me] for saying this but Michael Jackson never had a Coachella.”
Feig blasts Sony
PAUL Feig has blasted Sony for not including his 2016 Ghostbusters reboot in the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection. The studio is releasing the collection of Ghostbusters movies to celebrate the home release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Jason Reitman’s recent film sequel but Feig’s all-female reboot Ghostbusters: Answer The Call – which had cameos from original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson – is notably absent.
