Sevens, service and Xmas 7s coach

-

I AM excited that Fiji 7s has a new coach in Ben Gollings. I welcome you to our shores mate.

Just a concern, just take advice from Ben Ryan and Baber as to whom you should and should not “mix” around with.

There were some so-called friends who were also after your job.

At the end of all, you are here on merit. And the people of Fiji must support you. I salute Fiji Rugby Union for their decision.

Mediocre customer service

DURING the first week of last month, I had to visit a bank and arrived early knowing very well the long queue I would have to encounter because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

The long line of customers along Central St in Suva moved very slowly and the queue was about 50 metres long from the main entrance of the bank.

The customers were standing in hot, stuffy and muggy summer conditions but few of the women were given umbrellas. However, the umbrellas could not be shared as the security officers ensured the distance of two metres was maintained.

I believe the security officers were not properly briefed on customer service as we had to ask them to allow a pregnant lady standing in the sultry condition to go in first.

After spending about an hour in the sweltering external environment, we were made to sit again inside for another hour waiting for service at the inquiry counter.

To our disbelief only two customer service officers were on duty and the other four counters were vacant.

During the pandemic period organisations should implement the pit stop concept where the customer service process should be accelerated which would allow each patron to spend the minimum amount of time in the premises and reduce the exposure and the interaction time.

Since the third wave of the rampant global pandemic threat is looming, the management should implement a temporary canopy shelter along Central St side of their building and have chairs for the clients to wait in comfort.

The management must review the adverse procedural situation that they have created with the view to eliminate the current predicament system.

Please treat us, your customers, as humans again with dignity and respect.

You need to be agile, adaptive and responsive to the customers’ wellbeing.

The word Xmas

THE use of the term “Xmas,” literally takes Jesus Christ out of

Christmas and consequently out of our lives, because “X” is inserted in place of “Christ”.

We should never ever forget, that the real reason, for the festive season, is always Jesus Christ.

He was born in a lowly manger, and died at the cross on Golgotha, so that we can all have, eternal and everlasting life, if only we have faith and believe in Him as the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
