- By MERI RADINIBARAVI

THE PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) family, partners and clients bid farewell to one of their longest serving partners, Nitin Suresh Gandhi, at the Grand Pacific Hotel on Thursday night.

Mr Gandhi finally retires after almost 40 years of service to PwC, the last 27 years of which he served as a partner.

Speaking during his retirement cocktail party, Mr Gandhi said his career had taken him to all parts of the world and connected him to the global network.

“From the early days in the firm of climbing oil tanks, counting trees in forests, going underground 2000 feet to verify gold deposits, visits to sugar plantations and sugar mills to airlines and tourism, to retail and manufacturing and financial institutions, gave me diverse range of opportunities and experiences,” Mr Gandhi reminisced.

He said he was extremely privileged to have been a part of the global PwC family and had absolutely no regrets throughout his career. He will be replaced by Jerome Kado, who has been with the firm for over 30 years and a partner since the early 2000.

“He has been our tax leader for a number of years and continues to make a difference to our clients in helping solve their problems.

“Jerome is determined to carry and further grow the PwC brand in Fiji and the region.”

Aside from serving as one of the longest partners at PwC, Mr Gandhi was also the first Red Cross board member from the Pacific and served as Red Cross Fiji president for fiveyears. He is an accredited mediator, a fellow of the chartered accounts Australia and New Zealand, was president of the Fiji Institute of Accounts and Youth Development – Rotary.
