Extended deadline comes to an end

- By MONIKA SINGH

REGISTRATIONS for the Fiji New Zealand and New Zealand Fiji Business Councils 2022 Joint Conference are now closed.

FNZBC vice-president Namrata Singh said they had a deadline for registrations on June 15 but they had extended it until 4pm yesterday.

“When we started planning the conference, the aim was to keep registration fee as low as possible. We understand that during and post COVID, times have been tough.

“We did not want to burden the delegates with high registration fees. The conference would not have been possible without all our sponsors.

“We have had great support from our major sponsor, Neptune Pacific Direct Line,” Ms Singh said.

Ms Singh has been a member of the Fiji New Zealand Business Council for the past few years and while being a member of the council, she was mostly involved in the events committee.

“This year I was appointed as the VP and so far I have enjoyed the experience in all my capacities.

“Our president Ms Renu Chand who is the first female president of the council has been very supportive and her guidance and leadership has assisted me in taking up the role as well.

“The teamwork in the council is incredible and everyone takes the roles assigned to them very seriously and executes it with a lot of passion. I have found the council to be a great platform for linking the Fiji and New Zealand businesses.”

She said the council’s members were from various sectors and networking was usually the highlight of their events.

“The Fiji New Zealand Business Council and New Zealand Fiji Business Council Joint Annual Conference is something we look forward to every year and this year is even more special because it is happening after two years of disruption because of COVID.”

Ms Singh said she had been on the council long enough to say that the conference was one of the biggest so far, adding that the number of registrations they received was overwhelming. “We have also managed to sign up a lot of new members to the council which is excellent. We are very fortunate to have the President of Fiji as our chief guest for the first time.

“The line-up of speakers is quite impressive and the networking opportunity offered with local and New Zealand delegates are exciting as well.

“It is quite promising to see that we have the highest number of delegates attending the conference from New Zealand this year. We have had support of many amazing sponsors as well.

“So overall we are very confident that this is a conference you would not want to miss.”

The major sponsor for the conference is Neptune Pacific Direct Line.
